What is an Electronic Cigarette?
Who ever thought that one day smokers would be smoking an alternative electronic cigarette. Electronic cigarettes are not novelty items or toys. They are the latest invention that is revolutionizing the way people smoke and helping people quit smoking.
So just what is an electronic cigarette? It is a battery powered electronic device that resembles a real cigarette in looks and taste and deleivers nicotine similar to the real thing as well. But ist is not a real cigarette – this latest electronic smoking device does not produce harmful smoke, tar or chemicals that are produced by smoking real cigarretes. Nicotine is inhaled as a clean odorless vapor.
Electronic cigarettes have 3 components which are:
- the battery
- the atomizer and
- the nicotine cartridge
Some more recent electronic cigarettes are provided as a disposable unit having a combined nicotine cartridge and atomiser. Disposable electronic cigarettes have an advantage over refillable electronic cigarettes through providing a new, clean atomiser for every cigarette as atomisers can become clogged and less efficient over time.
