Smoking, in today’s world, typically refers to smoking a cigarette or sometimes a cigar. However, the idea of smoking substances has been known to exist as far as 5000 BC. It existed mainly in African and Indian cultures as rituals in various ceremonies. With time it has developed from originally natural plant stems and leaves to pipes to now convenient and simple cigarettes.

stopping smoking

A temporary feeling of goodness felt is the main reason why a lot of people smoke. The substance behind this may vary but tobacco is the most popular substance. Tobacco comes from the leaves of the plants belonging to the species Nicotiana. The chemical nicotine is what makes smoking tobacco pleasurable and addictive. In addition to this, marijuana is also used,; commonly flavored with tobacco or herbal fruits.

An increasing amount of youth start smoking at ages as young as 18 and continue smoking into their adulthood. This growth in recent years can be associated with the attractive advertisements of mainly cigarettes. Developing countries account for the most smoking teenagers because of the lack of awareness of the health risks linked with smoking.

stop smoking help

Over years of constant smoking, the chemicals in the tobacco smoke bank on the lungs, with time, turning into a tumour, resulting in lung cancer. Smoking is responsible for majority of lung cancer deaths. The quick growth in the number of deaths due to smoking related lung cancer has to lead to many campaigns to stop smoking. Cigarette packets too carry health warnings to let people know the effects of smoking.

Smoking has been banned in certain countriesin public areas in attempts to completely stop smoking. Almost all airports have a separate area for those who want to smoke. These attempts are to not only stop smoking people of the habit, but to cut down the number of passive smokers. Passive smokers are greatly affected too as they do not have the advantage of the filter found in almost all cigarettes. This has resulted in many protests by passive smokers to stop smoking, not only in public areas, but to stop smoking in general.

stop smoking

Some may say that the industry to stop smoking is growing as fast as the tobacco industry. Things like nicotine patches, and various types of treatments are being used to help people quit the habit and stop smoking. Usually it takes a heavy smoker a few years to stop smoking completely, but with the help of these instruments the time taken to stop smoking has reduced to months.

Using quitting smoking hypnosis can be a good way to ease the challenge of becoming smoke free. Despite common misconceptions about hypnosis, it is a useful method.

If you’re interested in hypnosis, you can use either self-hypnosis or seek help from a therapist. Treatment with a therapist can be either one-on-one or with a group. Some therapists travel and hold sessions in rather large meeting halls. One advantage of group sessions is that they are less expensive than having individual sessions.

Although group sessions do help, the success rate is higher with individual sessions. Everyone responds differently to a given hypnotic suggestion and a skilled therapist can adjust their suggestions mid-treatment by observing your response.

Also, if you have individual sessions the therapist will talk to you about your smoking habit and design a program specifically for your situation.

Unfortunately not everyone had a therapist available.

Self hypnosis has the advantage of being available to anyone, anywhere. There are several written guides available, but I think the easiest and most effective way to use self-hypnosis for quitting smoking is with a recording.

With this approach, a therapist has recorded an hypnotic session embedded with suggestions to help you stop smoking and become smoke free. You can listen to the recording any time at your convenience.

With this approach, you’ll be working with fairly general suggestions, rather than ones that have been designed specifically for you. A big advantage of self hypnosis recordings is their convenience and ready availability.

I am a big fan of using hypnosis as part of a quitting smoking plan, but I don’t think hypnosis alone is going to be successful in helping people stop completely. In other words, I don’t think it is realistic to think that going to a stop smoking hypnosis seminar or buying a hypnosis CD will be enough to free you from the smoking habit by itself.

However as part of a comprehensive plan, hypnosis can worked extremely well. You can discover more at Quitting Smoking Hypnosis.

The most successful stop smoking program I’ve come across that uses hypnosis has a 90% success rate. This was developed by a therapist who combined multiple techniques into a powerful stop smoking program. Until recently the only way to get access to the system was to work with them one-on-one.Fortunately he has finally developed a digital program that delivers the same results. You can find a review of this system at Quit Smoking Right Now Review.

Giving up cigarettes smoking is one the healthiest things you can do for yourself and those who care about you. Hypnosis will make things a lot easier. If you want to explore other options go to one of my favorite stop smoking sites: Your Stop Smoking Place. you’ll find the facts and information you need to help you stop smoking once and for all.

To help make sure that you are successful in your next, and final, attempt to quit smoking here are a couple of things that you need to actually keep in mind. Setting yourself up to achieve success isn’t something that should occur by accident.

If you really need to stop smoking for good, you’ll need to make some conscious calls that must be followed. If you wake up each morning with the objective of trying to avoid cigarettes and no real plan on the simple way to basically avoid cigarettes, you’ll find that you are smoking again extraordinarily quickly .

At the beginning, you’ll discover that you are doubtless scared of giving up. While you can be sure that it is the smart thing to do for your health it is a habit which has come to be a huge comfort to you. Quitting is so frightening that you even begin to work yourself up over it, making yourself convinced that you cannot actually stop smoking and that you should not even attempt such a thing.

The easy answer is that allowing yourself to believe you will fail will end in failure. If you suspect that you can succeed, you will find it much easier to quit smoking for good.

Your initial step should be picking out a specific date that you wish to give up smoking. This may be any date that you please, but unlike that fad diet you keep meaning to try out, this date should really come.

Once the date comes, you want to ensure that your friends and family are behind you for support. This will help you to keep your willpower up whenever you feel that you’re going to totally lose control. As a great step in the right direction, you could even avoid buying new cigarettes if you’re out, or destroy any that you currently have in your possession.

Here’s a clue: if the cigarettes are in the cupboard in the kitchen or the sitting room but not physically on you, then yes they do still count as being in your possession. You need to remove everything smoking related from your house. This includes matches, lighters, ashtrays, and all cigarettes.

Wash everything in your house if you can, especially bed sheets and drapes. Anything that has an odor similar to smoke should be cleaned. This will clear your house and make it smell fresh and clean. This great new smell can go a great distance towards warding off cigarettes as you will not wish to smoke in the clean house and destroy the fresh smell.

Create a reward system for yourself. A good place to start would be a minuscule reward after your first twenty-four hours with no cigarettes. Then move onto 2 days, then three days, then a week, 2 weeks, a month, two months and that kind of stuff. These small rewards will help you to stay incentivized to quit smoking as the going gets tough and your willpower starts to diminish.

If you give into the temptation, you lose out on your reward. This could be unpleasant in order to be effective . If you’re a massive sports fan, you might get yourself season tickets for your favourite team. Every time you meet a goal, you go to a game, which can encourage you to remain on track so you can use those great tickets.

Writing down your goals is another superb way to successfully stop smoking. There is something about writing down goals that just makes them more important. If you are just walking around with your goals and rewards in your head it is straightforward to switch the rules as you go along.

If your goals are written on paper, it is a lot less complicated for someone in your family to help hold you accountable. In addition, this could make it seem much more reasonable to really quit smoking. Talking about quitting smoking can sound really frightening, but seeing it written down on paper can be a reminder just how simple the process actually is.

Attempting to figure out how to cut back the stress that goes along with trying to stop smoking isn’t easy. There are numerous factors that will all work in partnership to worry you badly and learning the way to avoid these possible problems is critical to success.

If you don’t know what you are doing, you’re going to find that it is very hard to get the results that you need, without getting yourself into an even worse position. Learning how to relieve stress is typically able to go side by side with attempting to stop smoking, so it’s just natural that it can complicate making an attempt to quit.

If you want to quit smoking for good, you will have to learn how to relax and reduce stress while giving up smoking. Since your life is not likely to exist within a tiny bubble, you need to find out how to deal with the stress. This can mean activities like yoga, meditation and even a nice relaxing shower or bath.

If you find that you are stressed at work, a small walk round the building or perhaps a calming cup of tea might be in order. You have got to learn tactics to adapt to the strain, without crumbling. If you try and ignore the stress in your life, you are going to find it much harder to stop smoking; ultimately, you will finish up smoking even more than previously and hurting your health more.

Search for a hobby that you can do to help you break free from the tensions of family and work. Most of the people can agree that their job causes stress at some point. Having a past-time to help rid your life of stress even for a few moments at a time is very useful. This will enable you to come back to your job with a clear mind prepared to start fresh again.

If you do not have a hobby, you must look for one. Just be certain that you choose something you enjoy which is relaxing. This would make it a bad idea to go looking for a hobby that reminds you a lot of your job or other similar stressful situations.

Constantly look for time to chill alone. Everyone needs time alone, and when you’re attempting to stop smoking, it’s even more vital. You need these brief moments to yourself so you can unplug from your life. These transient moments are extremely helpful to your entire need to quit smoking.

If you’re continually around people, you will realize that your patience levels begin to lower significantly. This may make it far easier to snap, which in turn increases your level of stress. Even if you’ve got to stay up an extra ten mins, or get up ten mins earlier, these valuable moments to assemble your thoughts will be appreciated.

The proven fact that many of us pick up smoking to help relieve stress is common knowledge. This means to stop smoking for good you have to come up with stress relief or you may just be a yoyo between cigarettes for a particularly long period of time.

Working to conquer the desire to smoke is not easy, it involves lots of work, and reducing the stress in your life is certainly an excellent place to start. If you cannot eliminate the stress like the general public, your next best choice is to just learn how to properly deal with the strain, and these suggestions will help you to cope while you try to stop smoking.

You begin to accumulate quitting smoking benefits the moment you smoke your last cigarette. The benefits only increase as time goes by.

Quitting Smoking Benefits taught me a lot about why giving up smoking is a good idea. Here are some highlights. I’m impressed by how quickly things get better once a person stop smoking.

Smoking even one cigarette causes your small blood vessels to clamp down and constrict. When you quit smoking and the nicotine effect wears off, your blood vessels relax and loosen. Blood pressure decreases in blood flow improves.

After a few days without cigarettes, you’ll notice that food taste better and you much more aware of scents and fragrances because your sense of smell has improved.

About this time, you’ll also notice a improvement in your finances. Most smokers don’t keep track of how much money they spend on their addiction, probably because they really don’t want to know how big that number is. People have even funded their IRA with the money they saved by quitting smoking.

Your risk of a heart attack starts to decrease immediately and continually improves. At one year the risk will be less than half of what it would have been if you continued to smoke. By 10 – 15 years the risk will be the same as if you had never smoked at all.

Quitting smoking benefits continue to increase steadily. You’ll lose your chronic cough. Your chances of asthma or sinus problems will decrease. You’ll gradually notice your breathing improving slowly but surely.

A big benefit is a lower risk of lung cancer.

Your home and car will be cleaner and lose the stale smell of old smoke. You’ll spare those you love illness caused by your second hand smoke.

Other benefits include increased control of your life and an improved self-esteem.

You’ll look and feel better as well. You’ll have more energy and find it easier to be active.

Yes, there are a lot of benefits to quitting smoking.

You can probably add some more of your own. Why not make a commitment to quit smoking today?

Stop Smoking Tips give you some good ideas to make kicking habit easier. There a lot of good programs to help you stop smoking and a good resource to find out about them is the website: http://www.yourstopsmokingplace.com/

You know it probably won’t be easy, but the benefits of giving up smoking are worth the effort it might take. Wishing you success.

Every smoker, if they’re honest with themselves, knows that they really should quit. I want to mention a few quitting smoking benefits here in the hopes that it will help you to finally quit smoking once and for all.

Of course you know that you’ll be healthier if you stop smoking. Smoking causes 90% of lung cancers and most chronic lung disease. Lung cancer to you early and chronic lung disease cripples you and robs you of your ability to enjoy life.

There is no safe level of smoking. Even a few cigarettes a day do severe harm. The only good answer is to give them up.

Another quitting smoking benefit is financial. Smoking is like any other addiction – addicts spend money to feed their habit that they could use much more wisely elsewhere. It seems tragic, if not downright foolish, to spend so much money on something that causes so many problems. You’ll find a lot better ways to spend that money after you smoke your last cigarette.

Another benefit of giving up smoking is psychological. Showing the degree of commitment it takes to give up smoking will definitely improve the way you think about yourself.

When you quit smoking you’ll also be helping those you love and love you. Secondhand smoke injures those you live with physically. Watching you commit slow suicide was cigarettes wounds them emotionally.

I wish was completely easy to quit smoking and start experiencing these benefits, but you know it’s not.

A very helpful stop smoking website is: Quitting Smoking Benefits. The sooner you visit that site the sooner you can start accumulating all the quitting smoking benefits we just talked about and more.

You may be particularly interested in the page Stop Smoking Tips as a good place to start. Just one idea you’ll find there may the thing that starts you on your road to freedom from cigarettes.

If you need more encouragement to give up smoking, the grim information on the Smoking Facts page may help you.

The effort it takes to give up smoking is well worth it. I wish you the best of luck.
